A Rotorua woman who stabbed her female lover 32 times and sliced off both her ears will be sentenced in court.
Gwenda Leigh Sloane, 44, murdered Michelle Hoffman-Tamm, 51, in Rotorua, before disposing of her body in a forest in November last year.
The factory worker, also known as Gwenda Leigh Pluss, pleased guilty and will be sentenced at the High Court in Rotorua on Monday afternoon.
The pair had a casual sexual relationship.
Sloane told police she had "just lost it" on November 7 when she caught Ms Hoffman-Tamm stealing $20 from her wallet.
A post mortem found she stabbed her at least eight times before she died, then a further 25 times.
She sliced off both her ears and stuffed one of them in her mouth.
The following day Sloane disposed of her body in a forest near Murupara.
She showed police where it was on November 23.
Ms Hoffman-Tamm had cuts to her throat and face, her mouth had been gagged and her hands tied behind her back with a ripped t-shirt.
