Brazil against Cameroon is a landmark fixture for the South American nation as they become only the second country after Germany to play in 100 World Cup matches.
Luis Felipe Scolari's men have the weight of a nation on their shoulders as they look to win the 2014 edition of football's greatest prize on home soil.
More than 200,000,000 Brazilians are backing stars such as Neymar, Hulk and Thiago Silva to lift a trophy which Brazil have claimed a record five times before.
And when you look at the numbers behind Brazil's success in their previous 99 matches at the World Cup, figures suggest they have a great chance of winning it again.
The statistics are simply staggering.

20 - Tournament appearances
Brazil are the only side to appear in all 20 World Cups, with Germany and Italy featuring in 18.
They have never had to qualify via the play-offs - they have always done so automatically.
As hosts in 1950 and 2014 they did not have to qualify, but on the other 18 occasions they have done so successfully.

5 - World Cup wins

BRAZIL WORLD CUP WINS

1958 - Sweden
1962 - Chile
1970 - Mexico
1994 - USA
2002 - Japan/South Korea
The Selecao have been victorious at five World Cups, more than any other side.
Italy have won four but Brazil top the pile after successes in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002.
In fact, Brazil have been so successful that they were able to keep the Jules Rimet Cup after their 1970 win in Mexico.
FIFA had said in 1930: 'The first country to win it three times keeps it forever.'
Brazil are also the only team to win the World Cup in four different continents: Europe (1958 Sweden), South America (1962 Chile), twice in North America (1970 Mexico and 1994 United States) and in Asia (2002 South Korea/Japan).

68 - Matches won
During those 20 World Cups, Brazil have played 99 matches and have won 68 - a staggering 68.31 per cent win ratio.
The 68th of those matches was the 3-1 victory over Croatia in the opening match of this tournament.
They have only lost 15 times in the tournament's history - which is an average of less than one loss per World Cup.
Brazil have also drawn 16 matches, including their previous game against Mexico, which finished 0-0.
What's more, Scolari's men have lost just two of their last 19 World Cup matches (W15, D2, L2).
Streak: Brazil have won 68 of their 99 World Cup matches, including 15 of their last 19

213 - Goals scored
Brazil have scored the most goals at World Cups with 213, an impressive 2.15 per game.
Unsurprisingly, considering their reputation for 'Samba football' and playing the 'beautiful game' as it was intended, Brazil top the scoring charts ahead of Germany.
The Germans, however, are only one goal behind on 212 and, with the likes of Thomas Muller and Miroslav Klose netting goals for fun, could they soon overtake the Brazilians?
Clinical: Gordon Banks (left) saves from Pele, but Brazil's scoring record is exceptional with 213 goals

89 - Goals conceded
While they are renowned for their goalscoring exploits, Brazil's defending is not normally seen as their strong point.
However, they have conceded just 89 goals at World Cups (0.9 goals per game).
Perhaps the fact it's so hard to get the ball off Neymar, Ronaldinho, Jairzinho and Co means it is pretty difficult to score past them...

7 - Final appearances
Brazil share the record for final appearances with Germany, with both nations having appeared in seven.
On top of the five times they have won the World Cup, Brazil also reached the final in 1950 (losing to Uruguay) and in 1998 (succumbing to hosts France 3-0).
They have reached the semi-finals a total of 10 times.
So close: Brazil have appeared in seven finals, losing twice, including against France in 1998

11 - Most successive games won
The Brazil team who won the World Cup in 2002 also helped to set the record for the most successive wins.
Between 2002 and 2006, the Brazilians won 11 consecutive matches.
They also hold the record for the most successive matches undefeated, 13, set between 1958 and 1966.
Unstoppable: Brazil won 11 successive World Cup matches between 2002 and 2006

11 - Red cards
They may score goals and win matches, but Brazil also give away fouls.
Their disciplinary record is not pretty and they have received a record 11 red cards at World Cups.
Cynical behaviour and frustration can sometimes get the better of Brazilians when they are not winning it seems...
Rash: Sometimes Brazil's ill-discipline costs them, however, and they have had a record 11 red cards

3 - Penalty shoot-outs
Brazil have won two of their three penalty shoot-outs at World Cups, losing the other.
They lost their first one to France in 1986, but dispatched Holland in 1998.
However, their most important penalty victory was over the Italians in 1994 - that is still the only World Cup final to be decided on penalties.
On the spot: Brazil have won two of three penalty shoot-outs, including in the final against Italy in 1994

2 - Times Brazil have lifted World Cup after winning all their matches
Having won the tournament five times, it is perhaps unsurprising that they are the only team to have lifted the trophy twice having won all their matches.
In 1970 and 2002 Brazil won every single game on their way to the trophy.
Imperious: Brazil have twice lifted the World Cup having won all their matches - in 1970 and 2002

15 - Goals Ronaldo has scored at World Cups
No not Cristiano, but old Ronaldo. Classic Ronaldo.
He holds the record - now jointly with Klose following the German's equaliser against USA last week - for goals at World Cups with 15 goals spread across three tournaments.
Ronaldo, whose World Cup average is 0.79 goals per game, won the Golden Boot in 2002 with eight goals, making him the third Brazilian to win it (after Leonidas in 1938 and Garrincha in 1962).
Pele is fifth on the all-time World Cup scoring list with 12.

3 - Pele's World Cup medals
Pele is the only player in history to win three world cups.

16 - Matches won by Cafu
Full back Cafu played at four World Cups between 1994 and 2006, winning more matches (16) than anyone else in history.
He is the only player to appear in three World Cup finals (1994, 1998, 2002), winning two and losing one.

17 years, 239 days - Pele's age when he netted his first World Cup goal
Is there a Pele statistic that isn't dumbfounding?
Arguably the world's greatest ever player, Pele scored his first World Cup goal against Wales aged just 17 years and 239 days in 1958.
That is a record, as is the fact he added another two to become the youngest player ever to score a World Cup hat-trick in the same match.

199,854 - Fans at the Maracana Stadium for Brazil 1-2 Uruguay in 1950
Nearly 200,000 fans watched Brazil lose the 1950 World Cup final to Uruguay - a world record for a football match.
In one of football's biggest upsets, Brazil lost 2-1 at the Maracana Stadium.
Brazil wore white in the final and they swore never to don another shirt of that colour again.
