Pictures of record-setting Storm Jonas have been taken from space while it sweeps across the east coast bringing strong winds and heavy snow.More than 85 million people in at least 20 states are in the path of the blizzard, which is set to “supercharge” as it travels on towards the Atlantic.
The storm has caused significant travel disruption causing thousands of flight cancellations and officials have warned people not to drive.
Washington and Baltimore are expected to bear the brunt of the storm with two to three feet of snow accompanied by winds of 30 to 50 miles per hour expected, according to the National Weather Service.
Shops were left with empty shelves as residents prepared by stocking up on food and water as people look to find a safe place to stay until the storm has passed.
